Most retail shops run three systems that do not agree: a billing machine, a stock register, and an accountant who reconciles the two every quarter. The gap between them is where margin quietly disappears — stock that was sold but not deducted, tax that was charged at the wrong rate, dues nobody chased. VBRO Billing closes that gap. It is our cloud ERP for retail: billing, inventory and GST sharing one record, so a sale updates stock, posts the tax correctly and lands in the ledger in the same operation. Shops run it on a counter terminal; owners run several branches from one login.

The challenge

Retail billing has to be fast enough that a queue does not form. That single constraint rules out most well-meaning software: anything that adds three seconds per bill at the evening rush gets abandoned by the staff, correctly, whatever it does afterwards. GST adds the second constraint. Rates vary by item, HSN codes have to be right, and CGST/SGST splits must be correct on every line — because errors are not found at the counter but months later, by an accountant, at filing time. And multi-branch introduces the third: each shop needs its own data and its own staff scoped to it, while the owner needs one consolidated view across all of them.

Our strategy

Design the billing screen for the busiest ten minutes of the day, not the demo. Barcode scan, keyboard-first flow, multiple payment modes and instant PDF — with every decision measured in keystrokes per bill. Make tax a property of the item rather than something typed at billing time: HSN and rate live on the product, so the invoice computes correct CGST/SGST automatically and the GST report is a query rather than an assembly job. And model the branch as a boundary in the data, with a super-admin view above it, so isolation and consolidation are both structural rather than reporting conventions.

The solution

Counter staff get touch-friendly POS billing with barcode scanning, multiple payment modes and an instant PDF invoice. Stock moves as the sale happens, with adjustments, low-stock alerts and a full movement history behind every figure. GST is automatic: CGST/SGST splits, HSN summaries and ready-to-file reports. Customer and supplier ledgers carry partial payments, dues and credit limits, so who owes what is a screen rather than a conversation. Owners see sales, purchase, stock and profit-and-loss analytics with charts — per branch or consolidated across all of them.

Frequently asked questions

Is VBRO Billing a client project or a VBRO product?
It is our own product — designed, built and operated by VBRO Technology, alongside our other platforms.
How is this different from Jewellers Pro?
Jewellers Pro is built for the specifics of jewellery retail — live metal rates, purity, old-gold exchange and karigar job-work. VBRO Billing is the general retail version: barcode inventory, GST billing and multi-branch operations for shops that sell ordinary stock at ordinary prices.
Will it slow the counter at rush hour?
That is the constraint it is designed against. Billing is keyboard and barcode-first, with keystrokes per bill treated as the metric that matters — software that adds seconds at the evening rush gets abandoned, and rightly so.
How does GST work?
HSN code and tax rate live on the product, so every invoice line computes its own CGST/SGST correctly and the GST report becomes a query rather than a month-end assembly job. Errors get caught at setup rather than at filing.
Can it run more than one shop?
Yes — each branch keeps its own data and its own staff access, with a super-admin view consolidating across all of them. Isolation is enforced in the data layer rather than by reporting convention.
