Swift replaced Objective-C by being safer and considerably more pleasant: optionals make null handling explicit, value types remove a class of shared-state bug, and SwiftUI describes interfaces declaratively with far less code than the older approach.
Because it is Apple's own language, new platform capabilities arrive there first and completely, rather than waiting for a bridge to catch up.
Why we use it
We write Swift for every native Apple build. SwiftUI is our default for new interfaces, with UIKit where a specific control or a deployment target requires it.
The language's type system is a genuine quality advantage: a large share of crashes in older mobile applications are null-related, and Swift makes those a compile error rather than a production incident.
