Content written by people who understand the subject

Technical and commercial writing that answers a real question — and reads like a human wrote it.

There is more content published every day than at any point in history, and less of it worth reading. The reason is structural: most content is commissioned by keyword, written by someone who has never used the product, and approved by someone who only checks that the keyword appears. We write the other kind. Copy that names the actual problem, articles that a practitioner would not roll their eyes at, case studies that describe the engineering rather than the enthusiasm, and documentation that answers the question the reader arrived with. It is also how we run our own publication — the articles on this site are written by the people who build the systems they describe. That is the standard we bring to client work, and it is why we ask questions before quoting.

The problem

What this solves

Generic content has a cost beyond wasted budget: it actively signals that a business does not know its own subject. A prospective customer reading a page of interchangeable claims learns exactly one thing — that this could be anybody. AI has made this worse, not better. The volume is up, the average quality is down, and the pages that stand out are increasingly the ones with a specific opinion, a real example and a named author.
  • Interchangeable copy

Pages that could belong to any competitor, teaching the reader nothing.

  • Written for a keyword, not a reader

The phrase appears eleven times and the question is never answered.

  • Obviously generated text

Unedited AI output that readers and search engines both recognise.

  • No specifics, because nobody asked the expert

Content commissioned without ever interviewing the person who does the work.

  • A blog with no plan

Posts published because it is Tuesday, mapping to no buying intent at all.

Our approach

How we go about it

We start by interviewing whoever actually does the work — the engineer, the operations manager, the founder. That conversation is where the specifics live, and specifics are the whole difference between content that ranks and content that convinces. Then structure: one page per question, headings that answer rather than tease, and a clear next step. Search structure is applied to writing that already had a point, never as a substitute for having one. We use AI as a drafting and research assistant where it helps, and we say so. What we do not do is publish generated text unedited — the tell is obvious to readers and increasingly to search engines.

Outcomes

What changes for you

  • Interviewed, not invented

We talk to your practitioners, so the writing contains things only you know.

  • Structured for search and for people

Headings that answer, sections that scan, one clear next step.

  • Technically literate writers

Engineering subjects written by people who can read the code.

  • Editorial guidelines you keep

A voice definition your team can write to after we finish.

  • Honest about AI

Used for drafting and research where it helps; never published unedited.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about content writing.

Do you use AI to write?
For research and first drafts where it genuinely helps, and we will tell you where. Everything published is edited and fact-checked by a person, because unedited generated text reads exactly like what it is — and that impression is worse than publishing nothing.
Who actually writes the content?
People with subject knowledge, working from interviews with your team. For technical subjects that means writers who can read the codebase and ask an engineer a sensible follow-up question.
How much content do we need?
Fewer, better pages beats a volume schedule almost every time. Ten pages that genuinely answer the ten questions your buyers ask will outperform a hundred that skirt them.
Can you match our existing tone?
Yes — and if you do not have a defined one, producing that definition is usually the first deliverable. It is what keeps the writing consistent after we hand it over.
