Automotive businesses organise around the vehicle: its specification, its history, its current location and its ownership. When that record is split across a dealer management system, a workshop diary and a spreadsheet of stock, everything downstream gets harder.

Pricing and availability are also unusually dynamic. Used stock is unique rather than fungible, valuations move, and a vehicle advertised across several channels can be sold from any of them.
